I taught them well and today they are off to prove me correct. The wife and daughter are on a quest to the outer coast to rockhound for me . By the amount of binoculars and bird books getting packed they may look at the rock as an excuse to go to the wild coast but I have high hopes that my wife will find lots of rock to burden my daughter with on the hike back. I can't hike far enough to make it worth while but they are in great shape and are excellent at ignoring the rain and wind. Hopefully pictures very soon. Merry Christmas to you folks who celebrate the day .

Merry Christmas! And I hope they find oddles of good rocks amidst their bird watching!

Merry Christmas. Yes, that's what we still call it too. Hope your stocking gets stuffed with lumps of good stuff. Not coal!!!

Sounds like a good trip. I'm planning one to Rialto next weekend myself. If they don't find anything for you, I'll bring you something with blue or green eyes.
Happy Holidays Frank! Glad to have known you this year.

Just got a phone call as they await the ferry with some rocks and tales of getting blasted into to the woods to avoid the raging surf. Winter in Washington. We we see what santa brings tomorrow. Have a splendid day folks.

I saw the most wonderful thing, one of those scooters for the gimped up with treads like a tank, yes, these guys were bow hunting in some kinda rough terrain and had bagged a couple of bucks. I just spent some time trying to find the link in my history but no luck, it would save you some walking but you would still need to do some. Looked like they would have pretty good stability but don't know about battery life. I'll look some more and see what I can find out.
OK, found this picture
