Title: Western Washington Crystal Locations
Post by: Grinder69 on September 17, 2019, 04:13:40 PM
Hi I have been away for quite a while.  I joined the Marysville Rock and Gem Club a while back.  Their focus seems to be mostly on lapidary materials.   I would like to know if anybody has any crystal locations in the North Cascades they might be willing to share.  I want to lead a few trips to teach our newer members how to dig crystals,    The location should be less than four miles from the trailhead and 2000 feet or less of vertical climb one way.  I have also heard rumors that there is a new area for crystals up around the old and very well dug Hansen creek location.  Is there an unclaimed area I could take folks?  Thanks for the help.

Regards
Mike

To be honest the abuse of that area by rockhounds has us old timers appalled and quiet.Fisherman used to be the worst for leaving garbage but they have been surpassed.

I have been to Hansen a few times. the amount of unfilled holes is quite stupid.
Most all of the area around it (on both sides of I-90) is already claimed and you wont find much land to dig other than Hansen.
