Didn't feel like too much cabbing today, cloudy and a little cooler outside but of course by North west or East standards I should have been in a swimsuit. Anyway I decided to cut a piece of Laguna in a little different shape for me. The polish turned out perfect. I always hate the getting the reflection of my camera lens in the stone, you'll see a curved line in the pics. I wish Nikon had left the lens all black rather than put a chrome ring on the front edge where it gets picked up all the time. When I shoot on my stand I often take a piece of black fabric and tape it around the lens to keep it down.

Beautiful stone. Also wonder why, as you do too, Nikon put a chrome ring around the edge.

Beautiful stone Steve. I like the way used the material...nice shape! Pics are great too, looks like a really nice polish.

Black paint.

Not a bad idea. I used a sharpie at first but it just was more of an anodized black and due to the chrome the sharpie rubbed off right away. I'll see if I have a nice flat black spray in the garage.

Another beautiful cab, Steve!
There's a product called Plasti dip that sticks to pretty much everything and ends up with a nice matte finish. It's used for everything from coating tool handles to pinstriping cars. Might work for this.

Gorgeous cab! :Worthy:

A really great cab Steve. I love Laguna and all the other goodies from Chihuahua and environs. Very fine cutting and photography too. Sorry you're having problems with the Nikon lens. I don't have a ready solution but other suggestions in the thread seem workable. Good luck with that.
