This has to be the most photographed cab/pendant on the planet. I have been trying to get the best close up photos I can get of this stone. All of the red in this stone (except for the fortification looking areas) is made up of millions of little spots. Some kind of super micro orbicular jasper/agate.

The fortification in the circle is only 1/8th of an inch long in real life. With my camera I can not tell what the magnification is but on super macro I can focus down to about one inch which must give me a greater than one to one. It is just an eight meg point and shoot that is at least six years old. Did I mention that I love this camera. I bought it refurbished before I went to China so I would not have to carry my bigger SLR. It has been very good to me.

The groove cutter that I have (new one on the way) is too thick and I do not have wire big enough to fill the gap so I am going to have to redo this wrap.

This gives you an idea what it will look like down the road sometime. Nobody would probably notice but a close look does not look real spiffy. Next try I am going to use a three wire twist and see what happens. I have a lot of smaller wire to get rid of before I buy new larger wire.

lots of nice plumes in that piece :headbang: Do a three wire braid, it will fill the gap and not bulge out to far; finniky but if you're using soft wire it should work easily.
-
Lovely! I like the twisted wire and would stick with some version of it even if you had the larger wire.
-
Oh I really like this twisted wire with the cab. Very pretty:)

My My My how you do carry on and yes tis little ole me... :)
Get busy with your cabbing and stop this gabbing. LOLOLOL
-
I do like the direction you are going with the channel grove. Look forward to more. Yes, agree, get to work.
-
I have about five waiting to be wrapped but ya'll keep interrupting me. Just adulting (old kidding)
Thanks for the compliments but the swelling gives me a headache.
Yes I do carry on and on and on and on a bit but I was just getting to know you when you left me standing at the alter. I got over it and now you are back here again stealing my heart and giving me jello knees. And on and on and on and on. The good thing for ya'll is that most of the time I make no sense and you can walk away thinking "what the hell was that all about".
Jim BTW I bought soda with caffeine by mistake and I have not slept much in the last five days. It is all gone so maybe normal tomorrow.
-
ROTFLMAO! Jim you are to much! :laughing6: :laughing3: :toothy10: :toothy12: :occasion14: :notworthy:
-
LOL :)
I know about caffeine too. The Doctor told me to get off of it. I said I don't drink, nor smoke, nor do drugs, you told me to limit salt and now you want me to give up caffeine too? :nono:
What is next? Getting old is not for sissies:)
-
LOL @ Sara!
When they tell me to take away my caffiene, that is when I draw the line. :headbang:
I MUST have my one mug of coffee in the morning.
-
I have my one cup (taaaall cup) every morning but I got off the caffeine soda when I got off the sugar soda about 40 years ago. I did not drink coffee until I was in my 40s somewhere. I switched to cappuccino (ready mix moca Folgers) a few years ago. When I was drinking coffee it was a mix of one third cream and two thirds coffee. Just boiling water is much easier than trying to keep cream all the time.
Now I am told that the diet soda is way worse for me than the sugar soda. I am not going to try to keep up with flip flop science. I am going to die from something and I do not consider sitting in a wheel chair drooling on my balls life so I need to die from something quicker (maybe even cerebral lead poisoning before I get to that point. Bring on all the nasty unhealthy stuff, I will enjoy them to the end.

Alright, I've got something to say
It's better to burn out than fade away!
Rock of ages, rock of ages
Still rollin', keep a-rollin'
Thank you Def Leppard and thank you Jim:) Rock on. :glasses9:

WooHoo A woman and music dear to my heart. You are welcome and thank you my dear.

I want to die clutching a fire agate in my cold hands that was perfectly shined and cut. LOLOLOL

You two are wonderful to listen too, I mean read, but I can imagine the sound of your words right off the screen and I'm enjoying them.
I'm going to interrupt the party.
Then I'm down in the bottom of a pit in the blazing sun,
Torn and twisted at the foot of a burning bike,
And I think somebody somewhere must be tolling a bell.
And the last thing I see is my heart, still beating,
Breaking out of my body and flying away
Like a bat out of hell.
Music I hid from my parents. They would have freaked. With a strong Catholic upbringing the word hell in a song might just land me there. I did feel guilty listening to the entire album over and over again.
Loads of cream in your coffee Jim, I just had a bag of chocolate.
A vice here and there,
Coffee, caramel, cream, coke,
Pick one have some fun.
In memory of 3rdRockFromTheFun, I miss him from forum past. He would always write a witty phrase or Haiku.

when they pry my body frozen
from mother natures grip
I only want to be set free
to see the rest
of eternity

How I ever stayed away from yall this long I will never know.
Beautiful hearts, and wondrous talents in more than one way.
I love music Helene, and Bat out of Hell is one of my favorites. Never understood the name Meat Loaf though, when I was much younger, there was an old saying...... Don't let your Meat.. Loaf. LOLOLOL
Music gives me great comfort. True artists, I believe, are sensitive to emotions in many complexities, whether it be music, color or rocks, etc, as long as it comes from the heart. You can see your heart song in your work, Helene:)
And itsandbits spiritual:) Without limits:) Love it:)

I guess I must be in a fog. Did 3rdrock pass away? Or did he just not transfer from the other forum? He was a funny dude for sure and I enjoyed bouncing back and forth with him like I do with Sara. I can remember the short time that the three of us were on together and it was a barrel of fun.
I am not much of a music person. The last half of my life my hearing has been just bad enough so I can hear the words but not understand them. Got frustrated with trying to understand the words and shut it off. Pretty much the same with movies and TV. I would have to have it so loud that it would drive anyone else out.
The VA will provide hearing aids so I am going to set up an appointment. Don't like having to tell the grand kids to talk to my face over and over again.

I cant hear low tones anymore. So I am sure one day soon I will need a hearing aid too. I wear contacts and last time I went to get eye exam I asked the Doctor about Lazik surgery for my eyes and he said, Sara,
it wont be long until you have cataracts and then we will fix your eyes, and then he had the audacity to laugh. I gave him my look and said was that supposed to make me feel better?
Good thing hearts don't age:) They look the same as they always did:)
You got a beautiful heart Jim:)

I do not have a clue what my heart looks like but somewhere around here I have some pretty nice photos of my colon. Slick as a whistle after they burned off a couple of polyps.

LOLOLOL perhaps when I know you a little better I will want to look at those colons pictures:)
