Title: Guitar Jade Top Nut
Post by: safossils on June 11, 2020, 01:11:27 PM
Someone asked if I could make one of these so I thought I would give it a shot. Came out okay for a first time effort I think...

Looks good, how's it working when you play?

Not as good as I had hoped. I missed the spacing on a couple of strings, and it makes playing a bit harder. The tone is better though. I have version two in work already.

Nice challenging job. I replaced a broken ivory nut on my Martin acoustic with one made of agate. I was pleasantly surprised at the difference. A tad crisper and a little longer sustain.
