This colorful barrel type bead is made from a crinoid(same order as starfish/brittlefish) that lived during the Mississippian period and part of what makes up part of the Fort Payne (chert)Formation found in the southeast America in this case the Kentucky-Tennessee border. Fully mineralized by silicates this one is going back to the fine fella that I received the wonderful rough stones from. Hope yall are having a nice spring so far! My winter season just ended yesterday and I am super excited to take a nice little but very needed vacation soon!!
