Title: What is the best way to cut end cut slabs .

 can you use epoxy to glue to slab with 2x4 ??

  I use Elmers white glueall,let it set for 24hrs before cutting if you want the slab next to 2x4 soak it in a bucket of water
  it until it feel loose usually 1 or 2 days.

    I agree with the Elmer's Glue. I have done this many times. I have been using the Elmer's wood glue.

   Make sure the wood has a clean and flat end cut. The rock also needs a clean flat and oil free face to glue to. If the glue is not set well the rock will come off and possibly damage your blade. Soak the end piece in a bucket of water as suggested and it will fall off in a day or three. Easy clean up.

i have seen people use liquid nail also, then just freeze it for a day to pop it off the glue.
I had an end cut deschutes picture jasper glued and left it on my trim say table covered over the winter, came out in spring and it was laying next to the 2x4 chunk it was glued to.
