Yep, I get asked this all the time from others and I really do not know the answer.. So I cut this cab out of some old material I purchased and was told it is Blue Biggs. Then someone told me that this was definitely Deschutes jasper. ???
Yes, I look at other specimens on line and at shows. My problem is there are so many incorrectly pieces being sold by "experts". I trust the collectors here.
I am cutting a bunch of cabochons from purchased material, much of which did not have an identification. Purple agates are another frustration to me to get identified. Part of the fun. Thank you to anyone who drops a comment on my ID needed posts.

I will say my conception's of the difference between the 2 are probably flawed so I will abstain and watch people with more hands on discuss. I have plenty of both - maybe lots of one or the other lol. Well both are excellent cutting material but can't wait to hear the "tells" on identification if there are defining features.

Hey Neal,
Here is a Blue Biggs I cut a while back. A bit different but I am not saying one way or the other on your piece.
