I scored a reciprocating lap machine at the FLAGG show last weekend. It's small (12" model) but I've always been curious about how these things polish geode halves and slabs. It came with two trays but no polishing pad... anyone here know what material makes for a good cerium delivery? The guy I bought it from suggested indoor/outdoor carpet but thought I'd ask for suggestions here.
Thanks!

I've used the indoor/outdoor carpet from Home Depot from one of the rolls and just cut my disks from there. I have also used of all things some of the green matt material that looks like turf and that did a great job too. The turf material seemed to allow the pieces to move more freely and that probably accounted for the higher action.
