Self-collected
Likely from Wallace fm, Belt SG
Sanders co. MT
Hand smoothed pebble, hand drilled hole.
Hole is about 25 mm (no marking on bit). Depth of hole is equidistant to it's circumference.
Argillite is a superfine claystone and this shows a dessication crack that's been infilled with a more coarse sandstone. Ovoid shapes are floater mud chips.

Nice.

Thanks!

The finish and shape are great and I really enjoy that color.
-
Yeah! You're obviously pretty "handy" - with an artistic eye, too.

Thanks, Steve. I find that leaving argillite at a matte finish not only showcases the earthy luster but also helps it to "self-heal" any scratches or dings it accrues by being so soft.
I just drilled a hole, haha, nature did the rest!
Vince, thank you as well. Both hands in every pie, trying a little bit of everything. It's been exciting working with stones again after bopping around for a while. Life's settled down and now the time has come to create!

Thank you, Kent.

Love this one. The natural shape and look of the stone speaks for itself. Simple, yet elegent.

Thank you for the kind words and feedback.
