Title: Texas Hill Country
Post by: AgateLicker on January 25, 2023, 06:16:32 AM
I've relocated to Central Texas for the foreseeable future. New timeframe, new formations, fully silicified goodies abound... Anyone semi-local??

Hope everyone has been hanging in there as the new year gets rolling. It's weird to hound AND garden in January- too many opportunities!

Well you certainly get around. Hope all is well. I used to travel around a bit in a previous millenium... .

I've only just passed through Texas, so I'll be looking forward to hearing about it.

Better than ever, Vince! Thanks for asking.
Just a new adventure and lots of opportunities for learning and growth.

I mercy-killed a snakebit duck at the rock shop and the other customer there (we had already bonded over manganese pink in a mystery agate while I was inside haggling) saw me dispatch it, gave me a big hug and offered me a job at her mom's wine/whisky bar the next town over.
Yesterday she gifted me an early archaic triangle point and on Sunday we're going to drive out to a 7500 BP terrace dwelling she's been meticulously exhuming for months. She said 'younger dryas floodplain' and I knew we would be friends.

Good for you! I swear you're the most unsinkable person I've ever met. Hope you have lots of fun exploring down there.

That's very kind. It's been a wild life and I'm not ready to walk around the fire any time soon. Tempering makes a difference all across the board.
