Title: Crystal Park Quartzes
Post by: WingnutAndAPrayer on February 16, 2024, 04:01:03 AM
Had a talk with my kids teacher about taking a summer jaunt south to dig some points and lo and behold the very next day I was gifted a sandwich baggie-full after inquiring about lapidary rough at my local pawn shop. God is good, even to us filthy rockhounds.

These points erode out of decomposed granitic intrusions. The powder residue is muscovite. First picture also features two dogtooth calcite specimens. Not sure what loc. they're from, they were in the bag so I included them when documenting.

Not bad for a mystery bag! There was another five or so points on the nicer side I'd already given away before grabbing the shots. It's a bad habit I hope to keep.
