Carving a stone from a deposit I found myself on my own land gives me much pleasure. From the Tamworth region NSW Australia. [ You are not allowed to view attachments ]

Those gray areas seem to have a metallic sheen, is that the case? Some kind of sulfide?

The gray sheen is hematite. The Obicular jasper is in an iron ore deposit
Quite a lot of magnatite also.
