Packlithic was kind enough to grab about 50 lbs. of jade cobbles for me at my favorite jade stream while I drank starbucks and read a book in the truck. I have done a number of jade trips this way this winter and I can honestly say that it may be preferable to wading thigh deep in a fast freezing stream to get access to the gravel bar that is stupendously jade infested. If there ever was a jade Jedi it's her as she is great at finding them but has no problem giving them away. This is a totally weird stream and it lived up to our expectations by being mostly jade of a color we have never seen in the stream before. This blue is an oxidation rind only as the jade seems to be an off black. It will be interesting to cut this and see if I can use the rind color effectively. Thanks packlithic. The cobble is wet.
