last year i made a weekend project, the stone in my avatar.
Well........i made another cut off that little rock.
this time i found something i will never again see in a rock. An indian tipi tent.
I was dumbfounded when i seen the slab, i just HAD to make a cab from it, this is Mexican Imperial Jasper.
The stone (this one in particular) is insanely high caliber stone.
I was told the cabochon alone, with the quality of work bringing it to a pristine glass polish (even under a microscope)
I could sell the cab alone for over $400
Im keeping it though, unless i was really offered $450, then i would get new tires on my ford explorer lol!
Heres what i did with it, on my wash machine again. Another Spin-Cycle design.

Agreed. Absolutely marvelous work on all counts.
Am I the only one who thinks you should mount a high power LED on the back? :WEEEE:

I was actually going to do that, i have the LED setup, but i wanted to keep it natural so my end product turned out as it is lol!

Are there leds that small??
-
yeah.
I got mine from a wand i purchased at a carnival, flashes, stays lit sold also.
uses a watch type battery so its thin.
Has around 6 bulbs on it.

There are a number of keychain size lights that operate off of coin batteries and are more than bright enough. Someone with metalworking skills (Phishisgroovin obviously counts) could mod them into a backlight for this sort of pendant without too much trouble.

Now that is beautiful! I do love the arrow around the stone, it's different and I like that! :blob1: :blob1:

What a beautiful design. It really is amazing- the finish, the orientation... Your bezel accents really brought it home, what a great piece!
You have earned a sparkly wow.

I remember when you made the one in your avatar last year. Glad to see another piece from that rough. Spectacular stone, and really wows when you see that backlit pictures! Nice design on the setting also. That one is a winner all the way around. :headbang:

Extremely high end cab. I really like your silver work.

Very nice work indeed :icon_thumleft:

Superb stone, and even better rendering of the concept. First class work all round. :DRUNKS:
What a surprise that it is the lighter colours that don't allow the light through. :notworthy:
