I'm Happy. My spring art shows are over. These two purple jadeite carvings were done back in February. Finally had a chance to make them into a pair of earrings. The rough comes from Turkey.
It feels good to have something to share.

Those are awesome. Were you planning for them to look like faces?
I have some of that stone but mine is lighter colored. Makes superb rings.

Ooooooooooohhhh!
Love the texture in the metal and the curved lines of the stones! :love7:
I could see a matching pendant being made to go with those. String the pendant on a nice chain made of Viking knit.

Beautiful earrings, Helene! Love 'em! :icon_sunny:

I am having a hard time getting the true color of purples when taking photographs. I need to do a better set-up. The color is a little lighter. I retook the image and replaced the one I posted earlier.
I need to learn how to make a viking chain.
The faces were not intentional Jim.

Viking Knit is not hard. If you have a wooden dowel and 24 Gauge or smaller wire you're set. I have several different sized dowels I use and it all depends on what I'm setting out to do - how long I want the chain, how wide I want the chain to be and what the intended purpose of the chain is.

So the faces leaked out of your head into your hands eh? It does work that way sometimes. Very good combination. Almost tone on tone as far as contrast but with wonderful color and textural differences.
