Definitely intriguing.
However what I find amusing is that they assume the agate piece came to Malta via the spoils of war.  Why couldn't it have come through something far more peaceful like trade?

Malta bridges the east - west divide and basically anything can happen there. things are not at all peaceful there now for example with the east and west both wanting a bankrupt island.Lovely mystery and thought provoking stone.

I was kinda wondering how they etched/scratched the message on there that long ago. My dearly departed mother had a little saying that may or may not apply to this but it does apply to a lot of graffiti that has been found since ancient times, "A fool's name like a fool's face is always found in a public place.", someone seems to have picked it up in one holy place and deposited it in another perhaps hoping for a change of fortune. Maybe it was a warrior or a trader, we will never know, but it was there and now it is here.
