This is a stone I just found on the web, & I think it is very neat, the crystal growing within the quartz is the dumortierite, & this is a good example of the more rare configs. Usually the stone is seen as lapis, blue, opaque & not too hard, in the quartz, @ 7.5 on the mohs scale. This stone is very clean, 10x10x7mm, 2.88cts with slight blue in the crystals, a good example- :hello:

That is somthing. Never heard of that before

Clear quartz with inclusions is a strong interest of mine. Here's an image of an uncut quartz crystal with included dumortierite. Very pretty stuff. Pricey too!

Beautiful stuff! I love cool inclusions in quartz. :icon_sunny:

I was soooo impressed with the 1st stone, I bought a 2nd, a little more intense, 9cts, 15x11x8mm, good clarity with good crystal formation, this is for pendent city, a very neat rarity

Hello John, Please to inform the material u refer to is different from the dumortierite stones im showing, these are rutile quartz, there is a difference visually & the rutiles are a different material & color. I think the material is called sagenite-steve :occasion14:

The latest upgrade to the pendent, 3 stones, 2" tall, 14kt white gold-a single source stone in this config- :headbang:
-
Spectacular! I love these stones. For some reason, the gold looks yellow in the pictures.
-
The cabochon with the blue tint is out of this world. I am impressed to the max. Guess I need to start looking for one of those...... wow

WOW!

Beautiful stones and settings.
I concur... rutile quartz is said to be tourmalinated with needles of black, rarely green, or golden tourmaline. This is different. I have a small piece tucked away somewhere for when I've honed my cutting on such small samples!
