Very nice. I recently bought a few pieces of golden coral which is new to me.

Here is a high-dome cab, along with a finger-tip sized piece of rough similar to the one that got cabbed. I believe this is an agatized red horn coral from Utah.

I was hoping for a more pronounced starburst pattern looking from top, but overall turned out nice, and took a decent shine with very little effort (skipped from worn 800 SiC straight to cerium oxide).

Just a reminder folks to make sure you have good solid passwords on your accounts.  Don't use something simple either.  Aim for more than eight characters, and using a mixture of letters, numbers, and symbols works well.

I had to ban a long-time user yesterday because someone hacked their account and was posting sexually related stuff using it.
It was only a partial ban as I am hoping the original owner of the account contacts us so we can help them recover their account.

Make your life easier and our jobs as admins easier by making sure you have a good solid password!

Thank you!

Thanks for the great feedback. I still enjoy this type of forum heaps more than Facebook. Might just be showing my age but this is a much friendlier place. Here is one I helped my wife freeform.

Love this. One of mine  which I will post when I feel stronger is an interesting variation on this theme. Great stone.

Agreed, the undercutting visually accentuates the pattern here. It also adds tactile experience for those who appreciate it. Finally, it adds some interest for those who appreciate the gemological properties such as hardness and the mechanics of grinding...

I love the look of this material.

The undercut looks a lot like the undercut of bone lines in gem dino, doesn't detract at all in my view.  Great looking material.

Wow. Great artistic rough. Should make some good cabs or free forms.

Thanks Steve. It’s not bad undercut. It’s specular hematite. Like a mirror. The center one in my pictures has quite a bit. A mixture of silica- jasper hematite and black magnatite. The jasper and hematite are polishing great but the black magnatite can be a bit difficult. And another cut.

Very Beautiful material, I don't mind the undercut at all.  The vibrance of the orbs and metallic works so well.
