California serpentine

Finished this one yesterday. Picture taken indoors. It is a dark green   The picture looks more black. I will try and get a better picture when the sun comes out. It's been raining

3 3/4". I have a piece setting next to the saw that I should be able to a 6" or bigger cube out of.

Huge road cuts of the stuff. It should cut nicely, it's all a bit harder than soap stone. I haven't found any worth picking up except for a big piece for my rock wall.

Hey Dave, serpentine is a 4 moh. the only thing it is good for is spheres and book ends and yard rock. good paper weight, I have a 2' polished cube setting on my desk.

Next time I'm out that way, I'll pick up some interesting pieces big enough to get a sphere out of.
