As far as I know there is no need to dress a brand new blade.  I know I never have.  The 301 is a great blade.  Just install it and start cutting. :headbang:

Awesome. That's kind of what I thought, but I had seen other posts referencing dressing to remove a sealant or paint on the edges. Didn't look like this blade was in that category but thought I'd ask anyway.

HI,
I use obsidian to dress my saw blades.  I don't think you need to dress a new blade paint or no.  I like obsidian because I get some useful slabs at the same time I am dressing the saw.
