I usually just hound and slab,than lose interest in the rock.. A few buddies kept pushing me to start cabbing some of the material I cut...
So I jumped on the band wagon and gave it a try-hooked,yuppers just like I thought...LOL
My first cab,a Montana moss agate,I hounded on the Yellowstone River,in Montana. Slabbed it,trimmed it and cabbed it....

I've been up to the Yellowstone river several times collecting and I'm always amazed when I start cutting. I still have two buckets from our last trip 3 years ago. I'm working one right now with red in it. I'll post here when finished.
Moss agates are not easy to polish. Nice job!

Here's the finished cab, the ones with red dendrites are hard to come by, I've been lucky enough to collect a few.
This one has a small inclusion on the left side of the center dendrite, I left it so I wouldn't lose the pattern. Down on the bottom you can the white remnants of the vug same thing.
But it looks just find in my mossy collection!!!
