Fire agate specific question

the softer white stuff on Fire agate, not the white agate layers but the other crackly stuff that breaks easy or is popped off with a pick really easy on fire agate.

What is it? :dontknow:

I suppose its quartz-crystals . They do break away quite easily and often take colour with them.

The clear white caps on the brown limonite layers are chalcedony but not sure thats what you looking for cuz it's pretty hard.

On one piece I have it looks like really thin layers of badly weathered agate because they get thicker and not weathered when you grind them off.
