Cabbing septarian?
« on: July 20, 2016, 08:29:48 PM »

I just got a nice slab from a septarian nodule. It fluoresces nicely. My question is about the calcite part. Is it as unstable as it looks? Or does it hold together during the cabbing process? Anything I should look out for, or be careful of?

Thanks.

I tried tumbling it and it rounded fast but undercut and only got a matte finish. I have a friend that cabs it and it's beautiful.

Thanks. I might give it a try this weekend.
