Here is another stone that is hard to photograph. Need to do a video. I bought a good size piece. at quartzite and made a sphere. This is a leftover piece. I have a lot more that I need to sort thru and cut.

I love that pietersite. I have a piece I paid a lot of money for and I'm afraid to work on it. Maybe I'll just put it on a flat lap and admire the whole slab as it is.

Beautiful orientation on the labradorite.  I am still scared to mess with my labradorite because i think i would muck it up.

The good blue petersite is expensive , paid almost $100 for the slab that came from but I will get five cabs out of it. It's hard to really appreciate the color and chatoyant in a photo.
 The labradorite I bought at quartzsite. I was able to cut a sphere that is over 4" and it left a lot of cab material. Quite a bit of it has little to no flash but what dose is pretty good. It's not hard to cut, a little soft but you should go for, they make pretty cabs. If you mess it up it will be my fault so I can send you another piece

The lovely Susan has a thick slab of labordite and loves the stuff and I am afraid to cab it too!  It cost a lot.

Looks like you got the Labradorite oriented just right -- that's really a cool cab.  How big is it?  I like 'em all.  And who can resist Pietersite?  The stuff's gotten scary expensive since I last checked.

The labradorite is 1 1/4" X 1" the orientation is just luck. Most of it is saw scraps from cutting the sphere. My wife was woundering what I was thinking when I was buying the petersite.
Next thing you know something else will be desirable and cost more than it is worth
