new Ocean Breeze Jasper pictures
« on: July 04, 2017, 11:40:20 AM »

Here are a few pictures of the rough I dug the other day. This was a special invitation dig as it is a private property claim. They use dynamite here all the time so they do not allow visitors. I just got lucky and had a friend who wanted to repay a favor. Normally I have to buy this from him off his pile at his house. I will have some for sale someday. Jim Coon has some for sale now as well as a few other dealers who have bought from the guy who controls the mining of jasper at this claim. Wholesale and retail pricing. Whole sale means dealers and significant size orders. Anyway, slab pictures tonight or tomorrow.   As the name Ocean Breeze indicates the mine is near the coast in western Oregon, not too far from Coos Bay.

PS:  can you tell I like the red and gold patterns?  There are a lot more colors which I will show soon

Usually, when people refer to "Ocean Jasper," they mean the orbicular jasper found on the coast of Madagascar. Did you mean to say this is "Ocean Breeze Jasperz'? Whatever it is, it's very interesting looking. I'll be interested to see what you cut from it.

It was late, I was tired, all corrected now, sorry.   The real Ocean Jasper is also from tectonic plate movement. But this is an honest Oregon material with great potential. A friend of mine is mining it and I just help out on the sides. I will get some slab pictures today.... After I set fence posts and get a couple ton of hay put up.  wahhhhhhh   the rocks are calling

Looks like some promissing new material.  Hopefully the use of dynamite will not cause micro fracture.  :dontknow:
