Manta ray
« on: April 11, 2020, 06:52:06 PM »

The first in my ray series, completed last year and gifted to an eco warrior friend. Tamworth NSW, Aust. nephrite jade. Learned a lot, have two more on the bench, hopefully they will be better. The curl in the tail it to avoid injury to the wearer or close friends. The eyes are black nephrite from Cowel, South Australia and are about 1mm across, very fiddly.

Wonderful, both the carving and material. I've been working, off and on, making some spotted eagle Ray's in black walnut. Need appropriate material for the tails. Will love seeing your other Ray's when finished.
