Any Rune makers in here?
« on: January 17, 2021, 05:51:44 PM »

I'm not sure if this is the right part of the forum but I'm interested in making Rune sets, how would you go about getting them all the same size etc?

Had to do a search to find out more, and found multiple web sites that talk about making them. Since you're here, I assume you'd be wanting to make them from stone.

Grinding and shaping the stones could be done with silicon carbide or diamond wheels. You could carve them with a hand-held rotary tool and diamond burs. Polishing them with cerium oxide would probably suit your purposes. You could do that with the hand-held tool.

Making them individually this way would apparently be preferable to "mass-producing" them in some way. It's a simple process, but takes some time and equipment to make it happen.

I have a slab saw, trim saw and cabbing machine, plus some tumblers and a dremel with ass. My dad left me a whole shop but I'm always too busy doing other things, however I'm determined to get down there and learn how to use everything
