Early onset rigor mortis
« on: August 20, 2014, 09:03:50 PM »

This was my big fieldtrip of the year , it has been an August classic for years but the past two I was on crutches with a grossly swollen foot and had to skip it. The offending joint has been removed and the foot is fine but the same leg is now partially paralyzed. In any case I went this year with one walking stick and a crutch. 1.25 miles of pure fun . I will post a fieldtrip report but wanted to show you how not to go under a log ( lots of logjams blocking progress today) if your leg does not work. My hip locked up and I thought they would need a chainsaw to get me out.I found out that sitting on the log and having my daughter throw my bad leg over was the way to go and we did that the remainder of the day and all was well. The last picture is just above a gorge that ends the trip with just 1/4 mile uphill to the truck.

Yay Frank!   :headbang: :hello2:  :toothy10:
Looks like you had some good quality fun with your daughter!
I miss the nursery runs I used to do with Dad back east.  Those were a blast!  I'm so glad the both of you get to spend time together.

You AND your daughter are an inspiration. You make my back pain seem like a blister and your daughters dedication to you shows your parenting skills and her knowledge and understanding.

MY HAT IS OFF TO BOTH OF YOU.
