That's a cool oynx. Where dose the stone come from? Anouther Utah rock?
I haven't finished a sphere in the last couple of weeks, I have a cady mt jasper I am working on now but a piece came off of the side. There wasn't enough to glue back on so I guess I will keep grinding. It was only going to be a littler over 3",  by the time in get done with it it's going to be a marble
 I like doing onyx I can do a sphere in half the time. I have an oynx sphere I should post I have no idea where the rock came from maybe someone can identify it.

Hey you made it over! I don't think there are many sphere makers here. We should be safe down here in the child boards :cool: The Redmond is from the Redmond salt mine near Salina.
Here's a Yellow Feather Jasper I collected a couple weeks ago. It is very hard and has cavities that make it look ready to crack into pieces never had one without. Finished Monday night.
It is intense pattern the second pic is a close upof the pattern, look can't see from the full pic.

That yellow feather jasper is lovely!  Aren't you happy we gave you a board (even if it is a "child board") for spheres so you don't have to figure out where to put them???

Here's this weeks spheres. The first is a Birdseye marble 4" (Mona Utah area). The second is from the mine dumps around Eureka not sure it's exact name we call it Mammoth wonder stone. Don't really take a shine but it's very detailed 1 3/4". The third is a crazy lace and is not from Utah lol, a lady gave me a chunk for making her a sphere.2 1/4"
I work cheap!

I think my favorite is the yellow feather jasper sphere! They are all super rad but I love the dendritic pattern in it ALOT! Cheers!

Here is a Picaso Marble I finished last night. Looks like I drew lines on it. Nice light green color.

And a pic of a sphere I'm working on, a nice piece of banded amethyst.

I actually bought a rock!
