Wind
« on: September 21, 2016, 10:10:19 AM »

We are doing a job I. Washoe valley ( between Reno and Carson City Nevada )
There is a Storm front coming in and the wind blows, the area Is real bad for winds, if the trucks don't pay attention to the warning signs they get blown off the road. One time the wind warning sign blew down. The wind is howling today.  I took a picture of a tree on the property line.  All the trees lean from the west I the east. It's a pretty area but you couldn't pay me to live here.

LOL.  My wife's from Yerington and the humorous local name for those winds is the "Washoe Zephyrs."

I remember years ago when I often flew from Reno to the Bay Area they served alcoholic drinks before the plane took off.  I soon realized why.  It was to calm nerves as the plane got slammed to the ground several times before getting airborne, then twisted and flung every which way as it gained altitude.  They made absolutely sure all seatbelts were securely fastened before takeoff.

:LOLOL: I have flown out of Reno and know what you mean. It's as much fun as a roller coaster. You better have a strong stomach
