Cerium oxide resin bonded - any good?
« on: January 08, 2017, 05:35:53 PM »

Hi,
I am new to cabbing with a Pixie. trying to figure out what to buy for polishing.
Does anybody use cerium oxide resin bonded disks from Eastwind?
I couldn't find any reviews on those on the web...

Thanks in advance!
Sandy Z.

I have never tried them, but I have looked at them.  Eastwind makes good products, but I have no experience with this particular one.  I'd be interested if anybody on the forum has tried them, too.

I bought a resin bonded cerium belt from John, not sure if it's the same as the Eastwind or not. Anyway, it worked well and was nice not to have the mess usually associated with cerium. I would have liked the belt to last longer, but I'm cheap that way.

Ya, it's all about not having the mess. I'm in a downtown condo... I'll probably give it a try. I'll let you know.
What kind of stones have you been working on? Did it last 3 cabs or 30 or more like 100? (Just to see how cheap you really are )
