My Sister's 3rd cabbing lesson cabs
« on: April 03, 2017, 03:21:57 PM »

I had my sister down again and she wanted to learn more cabbing instead of Silversmithing.  She is still doing remarkable for only 3 lapidary lessons with me.  She had the occasional scratches and I made her go back and redo them.  She makes me proud, I almost forgive her for being so mean to me as kids, lol.

She cut a nice stone from my Royal Mojave spot that had some great colors in the moss.  A Burro Creek fro the spot that is no being made into a sediment pond at the Bagdad mine. A Chevron Amethyst piece and an India Moss from some material I picked up from the Aussies this year at Quartzsite.  A Dino Bone cad from some Dino scrap I had and last is a Pale blue from the Royal Mojave spot.

Somebody gave her good material and taught her well.  That said it takes a diligence, patience, and coordination to produce nice cabs especially as a beginner.  Well done, everyone.  Now its time to sit down and relax.

She's doing great and obviously has a knack for it as well as a wonderful teacher!   :icon_sunny:

I thought I would be sneaky and didn't warn her that the yellow area on the Dino was softer and would undercut.  I was taken by surprise when it wasn't half gone.  She said "Yeah I had some trouble on the Dino" .  But she corrected for it herself which was a huge step.
