Unexpected Freebie....
« on: April 14, 2017, 10:35:17 PM »

So my hubby goes to a yard sale this morning and finds a lawn mower he wants. He comes home to get me and when we get to this guys house, there on the side of the house is a leavarite rock bed except for this one rough rock. I ask the guy if he is selling any of the rocks and he laughs at me. He says, "What do you want?" So I pointed at the pretty greenish blue rock. He says, "You can have it!" Made my day!!!  :hello2: :toothy12: :WEEEE:

I am going to cut it this week to see what is there!

*This is my first photo post, so I hope I did this right!*

Cool! Patrick didn't even have to "negotiate" for it. Nice way to start the weekend.

I did some scratch tests on this today and it seems that the brownish red parts is about a 3.5 - 4 and the greenish part is about a 7. There seems to be some good silica content so I am hoping it will cut well. I will be posting pics of slabs on Tuesday after I get some cut.
