While my eyes heal, chance to post pictures (pic heavy)
« on: May 15, 2017, 02:54:36 PM »

Hi all

I haven't posted cab pictures since the forum moved...I can't explain why...but while I let my eyes heal from surgery I'll post some pics of last years cabs.  There are about 80 on my work bench waiting to be this years cabs, but they have to wait.

Lucky Strike T-egg core...stormy sunrise?

Original Owyhee Picture Jasper

Graveyard Point...self collected

Creepy Willow Creek

African Shattuckite (material from Christopher)

Chrysocholla (also from Christopher)

Ocean Jasper

Thanks for looking

Beautiful cabs, Craig.  I don't think I can pick a favorite -- I love them all!

I hope your eyes recover quickly and completely.   :icon_sunny:

Thanks everyone for your kind words and thoughts.

Mary.....The ovals are from templates. The other shapes are freehand with occasional help from a protractor. I love to do freeforms, but the patterns in the rock often determine what shape to use. I hate to cut off attractive material unless there's enough for another cab. Sometimes that gets me into trouble with some overly large cabs.

That Ocean Jasper is more like ocean agate IMO, most transparent piece I've ever seen. Good colour palette too.

I somehow missed these super cabs. That Willow Creek is crazy good IMO. You could almost conduct a rorchach test with that one.
