Red Desert Flame Agate
« on: July 18, 2017, 08:32:00 PM »

Here is some of the Red Desert Flame Agate cut. I shared some slabs a bit ago but...... photobucket decided we need to pay $399 a year to share our photos so the links are down.  It's fun stuff, not a true agate, it's chert replacing salt water sponge.

So, what does a salt water fossil sponge look like before being cut?   I see "stuff" at McDermitt, Oregon I suspect is fossil sponges and coral.
