Video of the new material I found and will "name" soon
« on: November 01, 2014, 03:45:52 PM »

I found a cobble of this material here in Atlantic Canada about 2 weeks ago.
It is Unknown, so I'll be "naming' it soon.... what a Treat.
It is very solid and fine grained...about 6.7 mohs...so, polished extremely well.
(the hole is not finished yet, but thought I'd show it now anyway)

Thanks for looking, Y'all

Very nice find!  Looks like Poppy Jasper.  You could call it New Brunswick Poppy Jasper.   :icon_sunny:

Thanks, guys~!!
I guess I found what nowbody had before, becsuse of my plactise of cutting local material to discover what it looks like, cut and polished.

Now, I'm on a big hunt to find more of it and locate it's source.

I have a clue of where it came from...an abandoned manganese mine nearby. I've got to look thru the tailings before snow covers them.  I'm going this Monday.

Can't go today...need our only vehicle to get copies of photos of my wife and my Canadian wedding for my residency application I need to file ASAP, before customs throws me out.

I'm doing research now of the curious dark green perimorphing and what/where it was formed.  I think that locatio is wrong now anyway.

It occurs to me that you wouldn't know why I'm researching those, if you haven't seen the photos of the rough.
Here are some:
And here's another video of a bead, showing quartz in a part of the green.
