Anyone want to help me identify what this is? It looks like leftover explosive residue from blasting. I broke off a tiny piece and heated with a flame but it didn't react.





The wires are steel or iron and attract a magnet.

Looks like the stone was mined from under a previous construction site.  If it is reinforced concrete acid will react with it very readily.

I think Slabbercabber is on the right track, but I think it is shotcrete yes a reinforced concrete that is spayed on the walls in a working mine usrd to controll unstable ground . Shotcreet is full of steel shards for reinforcement.
