A couple of recent spheres 5/18/21
« on: May 18, 2021, 07:31:18 PM »

First up is recently collected South Cady Mountain jasp-agate we hounded on a recent trip.  Lots of variety in the material, and plenty of hematite inclusions as well.

Second up is an orbicular rhyolite from Oregon reminiscent of Rainforest Jasper a club member had on his rock shop floor for 15 years and I said it was trapping a beautiful sphere.  He handed it to me and here is the result.

You were right about the rhyolite - there was a great sphere in there.

We got a small piece of green/orange in a bulk pile some time ago. It was great when sliced up. Bet you got some interesting pieces for cabbing when you blocked out your sphere.
