Leaking barrel

Hi I have a 3 lb rubber barrel that is leaking what can I do to stop the leak thanks. No cracks etc.

What kind of barrel is it (known brand?).  Do you know where the leak is happening?  Lid seal, side?  Depending on where the leak is it could be caused by pressure or a crack.  Need more info

Hi rockbound, its an Evans barrel UK its leaking around the lid no visible cracks splits etc don't think its pressure as not bulging , thanks

Did you make sure the inner rim was clear of debris before pushing the lid in?

Hi Vegas James yes have cleaned rim a few times thinking of using silicone grease on it next time.

I assume that this is one you have used in the past and the leak is a recent development.  It sounds like they don't use the cap over the lid like Lortone.  If you take the lid off and mark where it was leaking, have you tried putting it back on in rotated to a different spot and see it the leak happens at the same spot on the barrel or the same spot on the lid.

Will give that a go and see what happens,thanks, the lid does go over the lip on the barrel its called an Evans barrel in the UK.

Hi there is no seal on my barrel using a bit of silicone grease seems to have done the job .
