A friend of mine saw an Amethyst cab that I did and asked if I could do an egg for him. I hadn't tried but what the heck, I told him that I could do it if I could get the material. I ordered some and when it came in it was a bit lighter but I still figured I would try hoping that the polish would make it darker. Here is my first egg. Thanks for looking.

Very nice! Stepping out and doing something new is great. This is an amalgum of sepeate quartz crystals and as such there are many subtl hardness differences in the rough. You should get a piece of very uniform rough and cut one to give yourself a treat. Nice busy stone.
