Title: My first intarsias
Post by: kirigol on September 11, 2015, 05:39:09 AM
Hello,
I've tried to realized intarsias, it was a project for a long time...
I've used black obsidian because my black jade piece contains magnetite so I would rather make cabs with it.

I've a big slab of landscape marble from chine, but without landscape =), only 2 small areas I 've decided to use.

I've followed the instructions to grind the edge with grit 600, but as you know obsian is really fragile and you will see scraps.
I've used cyanoacrilate instead of epoxy because mine take 24 hours to glue and I was looking forward to have a little intarsia =)

Thx for reading...

It's a very pretty fall day you've captured in that slab! Love the framing of the intarsia- it really brings out the vibrant orange and red.

The boarder brings out the marble landscape feeling to this piece. Thanks for sharing.
