Here's a couple recent stones.. A few of them are kinda neat.. Rosella Opalites are the yellow stones.. Also is a pic of a hack job on some lapis.. Still need a little guidance on carving, but still trying :dontknow: May have posted pics of the little set.. Thanks for looking..

I wouldn't call the carving a hack job. I think you did darn well on it considering the material. Lapis isn't a material you see carved to much due to it's tendency to chip.
As for the rest of the cabs - why do you always post such gorgeous pieces for me to drool over when my budget has had a crimp put on it by my hubby? :sad5: (Not your fault of course!) We're trying to finish up things on the house, and pay for the trip to Vancouver before I'm allowed to buy anything again. So when I finally head to Quartzite we should be good. :icon_sunny:
I do love that Collawood! :headbang:

I always enjoy seeing your work. What is the last photo? The blue and gold look great together. They have a wonderful depth to them.

Yum! Nice looking stones. You're doing better in the carving department than I could do. :occasion14: Absolutely love, love, LOVE the collawood! :blob1:

Dunce me. Now I see it's collawood.

Nah I'm not duncing you. You just suffer from the same condition I do, "Brain without coffee." It's curable. :headbang:

They are all great to look at but the open work carving is super. So much caving is derivative and lacking in grace but this is not.

Oh my goodness, these are all soooooooooo nice! What a gorgeous color array- you really did this beautiful material justice, I must say!
Now I want Collawood. Do you have a good source you would be willing to share?
