Silbite on top, then a flaky, not-quite-solid white chalky botryoidal material, then a mossy agate. Dug out a big chunk from a muddy hillside a while back and am just getting a chance to clean it up now that the water's back on outside. Was a little too big for the bathroom sink...
Want to window into the moss agate there. This is from the same place as the potential mordenite/mesolite, a zeolite pocket of flexible, finer-than-hair white crystals.

Very nice.Remember that if the fibers are small enough zeoolites can be bad for your lungs.Have a great spring.

Oh yes, these are in that category for sure. Fine fluffy furry stuff that looks like a spider's egg, individual crystals about as fine as cat fur. It's weathered out of the open cavities but shows up in fresh pockets. None in the house, and in tupperware in the storage area. I still can't get over a flexible crystal structure like that being natural though! Seems like it ought to have application in fiber optics or something :P
