Greetings Group!
Sitting around waiting for the holidays to start, and thought I would share a few of the latest things and projects I've been involved with..
Going to Quartzite in a week.. Hopefully I will met some of you there too!! Wishing you all the best for the coming year!
The entry from last month's competition.. Was cut from nipomo marcasite.. Used in a cuff with a bit of turquoise..

This was Maw Sit Sit that I had cut over the summer..

For a winter collection, a pretty rad use of the leopard skin jasper from the cab below.

A couple variscite cabs.

A set of template shapes..

A second set of template shapes.

Not so much a perfection on overall shape, but this is to form a diamond.. Shattukite undercut a bit and a few of the edges were not so much defined.. A neat little marquise shape on the right..

This was being sent to someone that I met that has a lack of stones.. Using for a focal bead in her necklaces.. Used a mad river agate with a bunch of interesting tube patterns..

I feel warmer already looking at all those wonderful creations. Thanks for sharing. I think I need to make a fire for Christmas.
-
Happy Holidays and wish you a save trip to Quartzite.
Whoa, what a feast for the eyes. You certainly have been productive. You have been hiding your incredible skills and unique ideas in silver-work. I particularly like the way you did the raven (?). Looking forward to see it more often in the future.

I should have prefaced this with the disclaimer these were collaborations with local artist in my area.. Atlanta has a strong group of people of vibrant artists that are trying to push the envelope of design.. Turning out many pieces per week.. As I entered one stone last month I wanted to show the end purpose of it, as by itself didn't make much sense..
The template shapes that I showed are used for wax cast pieces, and some may find creepy, but again a pretty unique style.. They require a certain shape and by themselves don't really make much sense either..

Nevertheless, keeping busy is the primary concern not so much as admiring the past, but forging ahead..
Kurt the Maw Sit Sit was my second piece of this material that I cut, and the raven signifies a creature of metamorphosis or change in native american lore.. To me it's all around, and this symbolizes this..
Best wishes and Happy Holidays to everyone!

Merry Christmas. Always a joy to see your work. You have an eye for unique rough. Then the big bonus is what you end up doing with it.
