All but three pieces collected locally; I'm sure you recognize the foreigners :)

Very nice! What's the small shimmery teardrop in the middle? :-)

that one is BCs answer to the; ________agate, fill in the blanks. Came out of the; used to be, Disdero claim here. I missed the seam by one shovelfull and he dropped into the hole after I left it and started pulling this stuff out:( We were supposed to share equally what everyone; his cousin and I, found; famous last words, I had to buy this off him on Ebay
Thanks Amanda, sometimes I sit and drool on them myself; or was that when I was having a stroke??? LOL

Very nice presentation.I find it encouraging that you do not ignore your local stones as so many have done. Thinking of spring yet?

I sure am Frank, although that 18" dump of snow that we got kind of dampened the early hounding thoughts.... The rivers will be too high to hound till fall if it thaws too fast but the higher ground will be waiting:) Hope your recovery is going well.

I am with Frank on the local stuff. Beauties all.
I have a slab that could be laid down next to the black with white spots and you would swear they came from the same rock. Mine came from the lake Michigan area. Do you have a closer photo of that one.
I also like your long cab shapes. I have done some of the same lately

Thanks Jim and Frank
they sure do look similar!!
This is a very fine grained black basalt with white small feldspar?? crystals and takes a nice shine as there aren't any potholes or pits in it. I got this from the Thompson River near Ashcroft on a business trip; about an hour from me. I still have about 5 kgs. and there are more rocks of this type there

I love all of them. I bet all of us look for rocks wherever we go. LOL
I was going through a Drive Thru the other day and I saw a rock with some blue crystals in it laying under the place where you order. I jumped out and picked it up. I showed the young kid at the Drive in and confessed I picked it up and he just gave me that look that said.... Are you crazy? LOLOL There is no need to explain to people who don't love rocks....
