And Azurite.  This piece, although very beautiful, was a very stubborn piece of Azurite.  For some reason I couldn't get it to a mirror shine no matter what I tried.  Zam did absolutely nothing for it.  50k diamond on really soft felt did the best job but even that only got it to a semi gloss, more of a satin type finish.  Oh well, some stones just don't want to shine the way I think they should   :BangHead:

Has the Apatite been treated. I have some but it is full of pits and fissures. Probably just low quality but but I was gonna try hotstuff.
Thanks

No treatment Troy :D  This stuff is soft but most all of the fractures and fissures are self healed with quartz.  I had to work around a few that went all the way through the slabs but surprisingly, most were stable :headbang:  I slabbed the rock from a local sphere maker who said he didn't want it because it looked too unstable.  He was wrong, and I was VERY happy!!!!!!

I'm not sure Liz?  I have a plastic bin of Lab and it's from several different sources.  That one just happened to catch my eye because it flashed perfectly as a fan shape when held at chest angle.

All of these are just gorgeous!  I have a soft spot in my heart for labradorite, though.  :-)

Your beautiful cabs here have inspired me to make the rounded triangle shape my next one to try to learn.
