I have been on and off this stone for almost a year. I traded John (jsgems) for two nice fist size pieces of this angelite last year at Quartzsite with a plan to carve some and cab some. The stone is soft ?5? and I had a lot of problems polishing it on my diamond pads. While I was watching glue dry on my wood project I picked up this cab and started hand sanding it with plain sand paper. It had some deep scratches from shaping so it took quite a while to sand them out with 400 paper. When I finally got the scratches out it was easy to go up with 600, 1500, 2000 and 5000 which is all I have. I would go higher if I had it but it shines pretty good for a softer stone and 5000 paper.
I glued it to a stick so it would be easier to hold on to.

This stuff really glows when backlit.

Not quite as blue as these to pics show. The first photo is probably the best for color.

Now that I have seen how easy this stuff is to polish I will be more enthusiastic about carving it.

Worked with angelite and your right very soft, but pretty stuff. I like the control silicon carbide paper and elbow grease brings.
