I think I posted a photo of this stone before it was a cab but not being one to take the time to look and see here it is as a cab. A good Frank idon'tknowite but also a wowite. I am sure that a crystal people could identify the crystals but my totally uneducated guess is feldspar. The black is the same chatoyant black that I find all over the place here and to me is another idon'tknowite.

I have a new way of lighting for macro shots. I have a super duper flash light that has like 180 lumen that will blind you in half a second and I hang it about a foot above the table. I can hand hold a super macro shot at 160tieth of a second shutter speed coming off of a black stone. I do not know what magnification this is other than a whole bunch.

There is only one stone better than this rhodonite, and that is rhodocrosite. I am stuck with the rhodonite because I sold the two slabs of rhodocrosite in Q for a hundred bucks. Half it's value and four times what I paid. Okay. done crying now.

Thanks for the ID on the top stone. All this time I've been wondering what these rocks I cut open are. I didn't know, but now I know it's idontknowite! :Worthy:

Yes, idon'tknowite is the largest category of variousite (not to be confused with variolite) and comes in a million different colors and shades. I find tons of it here and carry a lot of it home because Frank and I like stones that are indescribableite and whatthehellisthatite. Just lonelyrockite that nobody cares about and do not have a fancy name like hollyshitagate or offthechartjasper.

Dem is perdy. I like the close up of mystery rock #1, it's very cool to see all the little formations in it, it is definitely an interesting material. Well done sir.

Thank ya mam.

Frank is looking over my shoulder and says "feldspar crystals in a maffic mass. The maffic mass could be hornblende but hornblende is very easily metamorphosed into other rare maffic minerals. Maffic means dark, iron rich, usually magnesium rich and always less than 50% silica. Good stone."
