Another stone from my trip to Deer Creek with Frank. I'm guessing this one is some kind of granite, but I'm absolutely sure its green and speckled. The polish on it looks better in person than in this picture. It takes a loupe or a closeup in bright sunlight to bring out the worst. :Bash: :LOLOL: There are some scratches that I've judiciously kept out of the glare, but I'm waiting for Teresa to decide what to do with the stone before giving it a last fixing.

After final polish what are going to do with it, make a pendant with bezel or just what?

That's up to Teresa, I just cut and polish. I think she has in mind pairing it with a couple smaller pieces of the same stone, one on each side. I think the jury is out on wether she'll use wire wrapping or try to drill.

It looks pretty cool. Reminds me a bit of that Blue G material.

That is sure an odd rough. That creek has a huge range of strange things. Very nice shape for this rough.

That sure beats my last speckled one for polish. I had some little tiny spots that polished.
Great job on that.

In person, the polish actually looks pretty good. It takes a nice high gloss. Aside from a dimple on the top that has retained some scratches, it looks watery. It's only up close and in harsh light that the variation shows. Unfortunately, it's a small cobble, 3 cabs at most.
One of these days I need to wander up to Frank's place and trade him something for a lesson or two. I suspect I'm overworking the stone at some stages, but underworking it at others.

There is alot of copper and silver in these mountains, it IS possible.

I'd be interested in seeing a picture of what you cut if you get the time and gumption together in the same place.
